Re- Telling Tales ~. Reframing and Reclaiming the History that Binds You

Getting to the root of the lack in your life by unearthing and transforming the stories of your past

A powerful 6 week course to create immediate & lasting change in your life by understanding how the stories of your past inform your ability to create love, abundance and power in the present .

The power of the narrative.....

Stories have been used since time immemorial to lay the groundwork for identity in every tribe, culture and civilization ever known, they are an integral part of the human experience.

The stories we are told in our childhood become the bones of our identity.

The flavor of the stories and the paradigms within them, shape and define our sense of self,

our boundaries, what we can hve and how much we can be.

Hello and you are …..?

Think about it, when you meet someone new, after the initial basic name, age bracket, profession, marital status etc part of the introductions are done, how do you tell someone who you are?

You go back to your history.

Which contains within it the stories of your family of origin, cultural folk lore and the experiences that shaped you…

..........all stories.

Whether they are stories specific to our culture and national identity or to our particular family, they act both as pencil and crayon; drawing the lines and filling in the colours laying down the landscape of our internal psyche.

This in turn influences who we become out in the world, the choices we make around career, relationships, resources and just about everything else.

Why Only Women’s Archetypes ?

Women in particular have been more susceptible to the influence of mythology and folk / fairytales because for the most part of human history that we relate to today, has been under the confines of the masculine / patriarchal energy.

The roles for women and what is expected of us around the world have been decided by this patriarchal structure. The versions of the mythology we have read or heard are convoluted with the position that women were “assigned” in these times. And like the old children’s game of Chinese Whispers; each generation under the shadow of male dominated society has added its own layer of paint to these old stories.

As the we come to this new age of equality and negotiating old power structures and find our authentic place, it is crucial to examine and unearth the origins of where we lost our voice, place and power.

Common Archetypes we get stuck playing or want to avoid

The Cast

  1. Cinderella - Not quite there heroine
  2. Sita - The Good Wife
  3. Demeter - Earth Mother and Endless Nurturer
  4. Sleeping Beauty- Queen in Waiting
  5. Snow White - The Beauty Pageant Contestant
  6. Shroopnakha - Our shame story

Most of us have grown up listening to some version of these tales and shaped our ideas of who we could be and how we hoped life would work out to be around these “heroines”.

We will explore the limitations and gifts that come from wrapping our sense of self around these archetypes and how they doom us to fail and come up short in life.
